Programme notes
Featuring renowned Gospel Singer Renese King.
A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Renese King is a vocalist, pianist, songwriter, arranger, and director of the New England Gospel Ensemble. Her recent projects include solo vocal contributions to soundtracks of three award-winning PBS documentaries.
An exceptionally busy performer, Renese has performed with the Cape Ann Symphony, The Melrose Symphony, multiple times with The Boston Pops and many other organizations.
Stephanie Stathos, Principal Flute for the Cape Ann Symphony, writes: "When Renese first played with us, I was absolutely bowled over. There was something about the tone of her voice, her conviction in the words she sang and the arrangement that created a moment in music I’ll never forget. I literally became teary eyed while I was playing — it was that powerful."
